FREELANCER.COM LAUNCHES VIRTUAL CONTENT MARKETPLACE FREEMARKET.COM!

First and foremost we are extremely excited to announce the launch of
Freemarket.com, which we aim to grow into the world's top marketplace
for virtual goods! Over the past month we've been testing the
Freemarket with a few thousands beta users and today we finally go
live with over 5000 items!

This new marketplace will allow any of our 1.7 million users to
upload and sell any and all of your virtual content to anyone in
the world.

Your Freelancer account is automatically linked to Freemarket, so
you'll automatically earn money into your Freelancer account when
items sell.

***
If you upload an item to the store which gets sold between now and
the 20th August 2010 you will win a special Foundation Merchant
insignia to add to your profile! So start stocking the virtual shelves
with all of your great logo designs, web templates, flash files,
scripts, 3D content, graphics, sound clips and more!
***

If you'd like to add a category, just send us a note at the helpdesk
in the Marketplace category. We've already had some great suggestions
about adding articles and database sections that we'll add shortly!

US$30,000 BUILD ON OUR API CONTEST DEADLINE EXTENDED

Due to feedback from our developer community, we've updated the API to
add several new features. Full details are available on the developer
wiki.

We've also created individual wiki pages for the API contest entries.
Developers are being emailed a password and more information. These
pages will allow developers to show off their contest entries,
providing an overview of the problem they're solving and why their
entry should be a winner. Get the low-down on new innovations and see
some amazing screenshots!

As a result of these changes, and based on feedback from the
community, we have pushed back the contest closing date 4 weeks, to
the 22nd August (Midnight EDT). Get your entries in by then for your
chance to win one of four $5,000 prizes or the grand prize of
$10,000!!! It's not to late to enter!!

FREELANCER.COM CODE OF CONDUCT

Another announcement we're very proud of is the Freelancer.com
Code of Conduct. Over the past few months we've listened to your
concerns and opinions and formulated, what we think is, a very fair
and unbiased code for all of us to follow. What we hope to achieve
is a just and level playing field for freelancers and employers alike.

Please read the new Code of Conduct carefully and keep in mind that
we will be taking breeches of this code very seriously. If necessary
we reserve the right to limit user accounts (including limiting bids,
reputation, withdrawal limits) or suspending accounts if the code is
breached.
